About Your Role
As a Software Engineer in iOS, your primary role is in building user-facing iOS apps, with specific emphasis on user interface design and top-class user experience. You are going to write codes that adhere to our style guides and embody complex client-side behavior, both using our internal libraries of UI components as well as rolling out your custom UI components when necessary.
Together with UI Designers and UX Researchers, you are going to transform well-researched product designs and high fidelity mockups into a beautiful and enjoyable apps experience that integrates well with our backend APIs and also works consistently across a wide range of devices.
About Your Responsibilities
- Develop, improve, and publish high-quality native iOS apps providing user-friendly, scalable, and innovative mobile experience.
- Perform code reviews, write unit tests, and contribute your ideas to improve the quality of our iOS codebase.
- Ensure apps that you develop are cross-device compatible, adhere to our company-wide style guide, and matches the designed user experience.
- Within a cross-functional team, collaborate with other engineers specializing in backend services, web frontend, mobile apps, and test automation, as well as product design and ideation.
Requirements
What you need to have (i.e., Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent professional experience in software development.
- Humility, zero egos, and excellent collaborative spirit. We are all here to learn and grow together as a team.
- Eagerness to learn, eagerness to help, eagerness to share.
- Knowledge and experience in building user-centric native mobile apps.
- Firm understanding of object-oriented concepts, design patterns, and design principles.
What would make you stand out from the crowd (i.e., Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience and knowledge in developing native apps with Swift.
- Solid knowledge of iOS SDK, different versions of iOS, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
- Solid grasp of current iOS best practices. (e.g., in memory management, UI layout & rendering, or network performance)
- Solid understanding of Apple’s iOS design principles and interface guidelines.
- Substantial portfolio of developed and released apps within the App Store.
